	tweak the do* scripts
	upper case environment variables
	whitespace
	echo what we set
	fix bug around M3SHIP variable revealed by this
	(not particularly important, related to
	bootstrapping from DEC SRC 3.6 Modula-3, which
	does not work anyway)
	remove some target checking and assume Win32/NT386
