Log message:
	Add some helpful error messages to cm3.  Previously, there
	were several places where separate executables (e.g. cm3cg,
	as, gcc, etc.)  could fail silently.  The only message given
	would be a "not building.." at the end, with no clue what
	unit or program failed.
