	for now remove the recently added predefines:
	LINKER
	C_COMPILER
	BACKEND_MODE
	THREAD_LIBRARY
	WINDOW_LIBRARY
	HOST_GNU_MAKE
	
	HOST_GNU_MAKE I'll probe for differently.
	I think they were propagating inappropriately in cross builds.
	They aren't a bad idea really, but need work.
	In particular we can't remove these things from config files
	until the m3quake users other than cm3 also define them as needed.
