	initial copy of Apple sample code from:
	http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/samplecode/GetPrimaryMACAddress/
	
	I expect this will work on older systems as well.
	Note that to compile/link it, you need to specify
	-framework IOKit -framework CoreFoundation
	
	I'll add that to the Darwin config files shortly.
