bootstrapping from 5.4.0 on KUbuntu Hardy Heron 8.4 beta AMD64
cm3 just core dumps..around ThreadF__Init
probably the setjmp/longjmp scrambling bug
5.4.0 is what the regression framework defaulted to starting with, that's how I picked it.
so tried from d5.7.0-2008-04-10-02-00-05 instead
my cm3cg yields like:
new source -> compiling SystemPosix.m3
../src/POSIX/SystemPosix.m3: In function 'System__Hostname':
../src/POSIX/SystemPosix.m3:37: internal compiler error: in simplify_subreg, at simplify-rtx.c:4923
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <http://gcc.gnu.org/bugs.html> for instructions.
new source -> compiling FSUnix_cm3.m3
../src/POSIX/FSUnix_cm3.m3: In function 'FSUtils__IsReadable':
../src/POSIX/FSUnix_cm3.m3:10: internal compiler error: in int_mode_for_mode, at stor-layout.c:258
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <http://gcc.gnu.org/bugs.html> for instructions.
new source -> compiling TextUtils.m3
../src/cm3/TextUtils.m3: In function 'TextUtils__SkipLeft':
../src/cm3/TextUtils.m3:36: internal compiler error: in int_mode_for_mode, at stor-layout.c:258
Please submit a full bug report,
so now going back to the cm3cg in d5.7.0-2008-04-10-02-00-05
That works, scripts/python/upgrade.py succeeds, having set OMIT_GCC (probably should be CM3_OMIT_GCC).
No time right now to dig in..
