As an /experiment/ you might try building that assembly yourself?
First you need to cd to m3cc and cm3 -DM3CC_TARGET=foo.
My config files probe around for the correct seeming m3cg and use it.
And then scripts/python/boot1.py foo.
The point of the "experiment" would be see if anyone else can produce these "bootstrap" archives, as a possible first toward elevating their status -- ie: using them as a form of distribution.
But not clear if they should be or not -- to what extent os /version/ is a problem and to what extent it should be dealt with, and if that should be via building on the various hosts or these "bootstrap" archives, or something else.
You know, ideally, maybe, given time/energy, there'd be regulary produced (daily) "bootstrap" archives for "all" the platforms, "min", and "std". Including maybe even a cm3cg..though that cm3cg would be "Canadian" and seems maybe a dubious thing to depend on working regularly.
So, while we might output binary distributions for various "current" platforms, these could be fallbacks for other older/newer versions.
As well, esp. if the Canadian cm3cg worked out, these could even be the real distributions -- benefit being that they can all be cross built from one or a few machines -- without having to automate each host platform. Though maybe that's too much to do on one machine.
