Why?

If nobody thinks these bin packages are useful, we can leave them
out without any problem. I thought they would be a good compromise
as they provide both sources and binaries and may be used as the
base for both kinds of system dependent packages.

As I said before, I don't really intend to provide packages for
Debian, Ubuntu, RedHat, Solaris, MacOS, Windows, Solaris etc.
That's something I cannot manage and maintain. Elego can provide web
and disk resources, but everything else needs to be done by dedicated
users.

If the packaging and installation process for these systems will
be completely decoupled from any kind of standard release packages,
that's fine too.

Nonetheless I'd like to get to the point where there's a working
release again which can be used by anyone in the same way.

So if there is anything such a standard distribution should provide
which can be done without much efforts, I'd like to hear about it.
I tried to conform to Peter Eiserloh's wishes, as far as it they
can be reasonably fulfilled within some weeks. Now I'm not really
sure what it is that's wanted.

Thanks for your input,

Olaf
