[M3devel] builds on release branch broken

I just noticed several build failures on the release branch.
One seems to be caused by this:

One of these commits seems to be the culprit:

Changes

    1. move _DARWIN_FEATURE_64_ONLY_BIT_INODE earlier, so that it will work
       (This only affects ARM_DARWIN I believe, and maybe not even  
it.) (detail)
    2. copy from head so it compiles (detail)
    3. copy from head, so that release can be built by "upgrading" from head
       (head m3core has cut down/removed Utime for portability, and it
       was used here)) (detail)
    4. whitespace only (detail)

Please fix.
