AMD64_FREEBSD to gcc 4.5?

There are a few options for me to do this:

  - just make the "small" change and see what happens in Hudson 
       ("small" as in a small textual diff, but not small in meaning) 
  - ssh as hudson to the hudson node and work/test in $HOME/jay or such 
  - setup a VM and test it there; not difficult 


x86/AMD64 platforms have had a high rate of working here and there
aren't many left, so option #1 doesn't seem too bad.


"Philosophically" #1 is the worst, least responsible, option.
But probably ok.


I can at least do a quick cross build of cm3 only.
  (still todo: enable cross building the whole system, for our
   unusual but useful definition of "cross build")
