[M3devel] UI, Trestle, native... Cocoa??

I think the point is that GUI support for Cocoa and Windows is useful to myself and possibly other people, I'm not really counting how many platforms it will work on - I need those two platforms and I need them native. Actually I need Carbon and Windows right now but Cocoa would be very nice.

Implementing Trestle to look like Cocoa would be non-trivial, and pointless. The idea is that you want your GUI to change when the underlying OS changes, which it does very regularly, or on Windows the user can change the look whenever they want.

As far as static breaks go, there would be links to library calls so when they change the linking would break, but Mac OS APIs almost never change, they just get updated with new calls so it wouldn't really be a problem. I don't know if there is any subtle issues wrt Obj-C but I doubt it.
