To Jay, don't forget Solaris builds work better with a non-gcc compiler. I
would hope cm3 would never require gcc or use gcc-specific extensions or it
will cause problems (with GPL3 in the newer versions of gcc) and also on
platforms where gcc isn't the best choice for various reasons.
