Hi all:
I think we could, but I would center my focus on a Traditional Microkernel approach e.g Workplace OS (so, you could have instead of a Unix kernel level server on top of SPIN kernel) a personality in whatever language OS (Gnu/Linux, or better to say, M3/Linux) you want, in user mode (the larger part would be rewriting of lowest level of Mach, but ARX did that before it, abstraction of everything), even I know they ported AIX to Modula-3 at some point in the project.
