[M3devel] Version number in m3linker

m3linker, in its private format link info file, uses the version string:
"M3 v4.2".  Does anybody know if this is intended to be m3linker's own
private version numbering, or is it supposed to be the same as we get
from "cm3 -version"?  If so, it's way out of date.

WARNING: Just editing it will produce a tricky bootstrap problem, so
don't do it gratuitously.  I happen to need to change it for another
reason.
