Martin:

Sorry, I reread my post and realized I forgot to tell you the variables that can go into cm3\bin\cm3.cfg

INITIAL_CM3_IDE_BROWSER
INITIAL_CM3_IDE_EDITOR

If you are on Windows, you will need to escape the backslash character, e.g.
INITIAL_CM3_IDE_BROWSER="C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\iexplore.exe"

You should set the following environment variable to point to the location where your "private" Modula-3 projects are stored: CM3_IDE_HOME

For example, CM3_IDE_HOME=C:\MyM3Projects

If you are using Microsoft Windows and you want to use paths with spaces, you should use the Microsoft short name equivalents, e.g., CM3_IDE_HOME=C:\DOCUME~1\mbishop\MYDOCU~1\CM3Home

Regards,
Randy

Martin:

Thanks for your question.

Please let me know what operating system platform you are using.

The first time you run CM3IDE, it asks about which editor and which browser you want to use. These questions can be avoided by putting the information in your CM3.CFG file.

If you are using Microsoft IE and Windows, the required format of the response to the console dialog questions is not obvious.

I will be glad to try and help you resolve this problem. Please understand that CM3IDE is a new addition to the cm3 codebase and we are still working out some kinks.

Regards,
Randy

Of course I meant on the usenet group, as this IS the mailing list :P
