[M3devel] tinderbox failures: undefined variables in quake

There are definitely some bugs in old cm3 that I don't understand.

  My use of "local" at global scope may be dubious, granted.

I can build cm3cg now from Linux/x86 5.4.0, but I'm not sure about the M3_PROFILING error.

We'll see how the next runs go.

The Tinderbox build scripts should run cm3 -version so we know what we are dealing with.
