can you do like:
 export PATH=$STAGE/cm3-all-AMD64_FREEBSD-d5.10.0-FreeBSD10.1-20150601/bin/:$PATH 
 cd /mech/construction/mech/ptrees/default/lang/modula3/work/cm3-8c1b86a/m3-tools/cvsup/suplib 
 cm3 -commands -verbose 
 cm3 -commands -verbose realclean
 cm3 -commands -verbose build
