Hi all:
well in that case it would be probably less efficient to have running over and over probably if you are brave enough to virtualize it might be possible to load a good server with some virtual machines which later you can teleport like Vbox over a net and run for testing of the concept like you say twice a week. Tere is one in aprticular probably useful for the Irix the SimOS, which run natevely in the IRIX and others now, also other platforms like DEC Alpha and power PC.
I have downloaded an article from computer world library so you can check for details in the efficient virtualization affairs, it requires sign up to grab it (see http://www.vision6.com.au/ch/21104/2d34n3v/1289505/1b836s789.html ) so you can have it from here (just accept secure certificate and agree to add an exception):
https://168.176.86.16/~danielb/Virtualization_APC.pdf
As for the JVM you can have Loongson JVM for free ( http://debian.printk.org/software-loongson/jvm/jdk15_mips_080103.tar.gz ) in those machines to do the JVM part of the job, though not sure if hat works for your needs and available resources and system implementation.
Thanks in advance
